Dr. Ellen Koppa, Ph.D.
Ellen Koppa, organizer of the 2026 Tanzania Travel & Tourism Investment Roadshow, holds a Ph.D. in Parks, Recreation, and Tourism Management from the United States and a Master’s in Strategic Project Management from Leeds Beckett University in the United Kingdom. With over 10 years of experience at Tanzania National Parks, she was inspired by President Samia Suluhu Hassan’s Royal Tour to launch this strategic initiative. Ellen brings deep industry expertise and a results-driven approach to connecting Tanzania’s top destinations and investment opportunities with the global market.

Tanzania Tourist Board (TTB)
Established under the Tanzania Tourist Board Act of 1962 and amended in 1992, the Tanzania Tourist Board (TTB) is the government agency responsible for promoting and developing tourism in Tanzania. Its mission is to foster sustainable tourism both domestically and internationally through innovative awareness campaigns, thereby contributing significantly to the country’s socio-economic development. TTB envisions tourism becoming the leading contributor to Tanzania’s GDP by 2025.
TTB’s functions include marketing Tanzania as a premier travel destination, encouraging the development of tourism amenities, and conducting research to enhance the tourism industry’s foundation. The Board actively participates in international tourism fairs, such as Fitur in Madrid, to showcase Tanzania’s diverse attractions, including safaris, beaches, and cultural heritage.
